Oi!
(Brazilian Greeting)

Simone is a social impact designer and social activist that uses her experience with human-centered design and audio-visual production to create a world with less inequality. Nowadays, Simone is a strategic design student at TU Delft where she is focused on design for policymaking and public sector innovation.

In 2015 she founded the Older Child Adoption Project (Projeto Adoção Tardia), an independent initiative to raise awareness about children's adoption in Brazil. The Project also co-creates new practices with adoption support groups and shelter home institutions to improve the experience of sheltered children and adolescents.

Prior to her master's in The Netherlands, she was a service and visual designer at No One. A design-led strategy firm based in Porto Alegre. Using design thinking mindset and methods, she was part of interdisciplinary teams that create educational programs, products, services, and experiences for organizations such as Sicredi (cooperative bank), Santa Casa Hospital and Junior Achievement Brazil (NGO).

She holds a degree in Design from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, and she also studied photography and illustration at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Canada (Science Without Borders Scholarship Program).

Related to volunteer work, she was part of the Global Shapers Community for three years, and she represented the Porto Alegre Hub in the Latin America World Economic Forum in Buenos Aires (2017).
